‘SQUEAKY BUM TIME’ FOR THIS TRIO – BUT PLEASE, NO SYMPATHY

Ooh, it’s getting tight at the top of the Premier League now, isn’t it? Definitely “squeaky bum time” for the final run-in, as Sir Alex Ferguson used to say.

But hang on a minute. Before you start feeling any sympathy for the three main managers – Pep, Klopp and that young interloper Arteta – remember a) their stratospheric income bracket, and b) the definition of “pressure” offered up by Keith Miller, Australian cricketing legend and World War Two fighter pilot:--

“They don’t know what pressure means. I’ll tell you what pressure is. It’s having a Messerschmitt up your arse at 20,000 feet. That’s pressure.”
